While fairly young in terms of years since its launch, the history and inspiration behind JSC dates all the way back to the early 80’s. There’s a very good reason company founder, Jon Slavin is as comfortable on a construction site as he is in sales and marketing. Jon comes from a long line of tradesmen and entrepreneurs who taught him the value of hard work and imbued him with the sense that it isn’t enough to merely perform a task, but to strive to do it better than anyone else. As a young boy, he would accompany his grandfather in the garden to taking care of any construction projects on their 10 acres property. When he wasn’t tinkering with tools or operating various types of machinery he would attend real estate showings with his father where he learned about renovation upgrades, business operations and the real estate market in general.

Jon officially got his start as a business owner at the age of 14 when started and registered Yard Busters providing neighbors, family members and clients he obtained through his father’s real estate company with lawn care and handyman services. He quickly worked his way up to a steady stream of daily customers where he learned the importance of customer service and started honing his skill as a perfectionist. In all of the years since, his attention-to-detail and commitment to owner satisfaction have been integral to his success in the construction industry, and land acquisitions & appraisals. In 2000, he felt it was time to expand and incorporate creating J.Slavin Contracting Inc.

Although Jon represents more than 20 years experience of his own, he has assembled a team of skilled and seasoned industry professionals who embrace his corporate culture of uncompromised customer service, quality craftsmanship and community involvement. Regardless of the stature of the client or size of the project, Jon hopes that every job ends with a happy customer who enjoyed the process, is completely satisfied with the product delivered, believed their thoughts and ideas were incorporated in the end-result, and felt JSC was always accessible, genuine and professional.

When not working, you are likely to find Jon enjoying the outdoors whether it be venturing the trails in his side x side or cruising Ontario’s water way’s via PWC he tries to always stay busy and in tuned with current trends.
